Research Overview
Our group’s research focus is to assess the impact/role of the female sex hormone “Estrogen” on Age Associated Pathophysiologie(s) observed in Women. To address the various goals we use up-to-date cellular, biochemical and molecular approaches to understand and elucidate the relative role of conventional Estrogen Receptor (ER) mediated actions and the non-conventional estrogen metabolism driven ER independent actions. The goal of our research is to understand, identify and develop molecules that can mediate the beneficial but not the deleterious actions of estrogen and facilitate safer treatment alternatives for Women’s Health.
