Daniel gained his PhD from the University of Zurich, where he worked in the lab of Prof. Dr. Rudolf Wüthrich, testing novel therapies for Polycystic Kindey Diseases (PKD). For his Postdoc, he joined the lab of Prof. Dr. Anna Biason-Lauber at the Endocrinology Division of the Fribourg Medicine Institute. He explored the mechanisms that lead to differences of sex development (DSD) and worked on translating novel technologies like organoids and NGS into personalized medicine for DSD patients. During this time, he developed his passion for Women’s Health research and the development of novel personalized solutions for patient’s needs. He joined the Department directed by Prof. Dr. Brigitte Leeners’ group at University Hospital of Zürich (USZ) in 2023 as a Junior Group Leader to develop therapeutic solutions and diagnostic tools for Benign Endometrial Diseases.
